Welcome, Elise!

Elise Cramer

A local Portlander, Elise attended Washington University in St. Louis where she studied cognitive neuroscience and jazz. While in college, she briefly lived in Italy where she played music and worked at a science institute conducting Alzheimer's research.

Over the past years, Elise has worked in design and fabrication, applying her unique skillset to a diverse range of projects. She has built websites for foundations and nonprofits, helped museums create exhibits, guided conversations about climate change, and created learning tools on a variety of topics; from moose extinction to Oregon’s complex history.

At Fat Pencil, Elise is looking forward to working in new mediums alongside technical subject matter experts, exploring how content strategy and storytelling can be applied to solving problems and making life easier.

In her spare time, Elise enjoys the outdoors, attending live performances and teaching music.

Albums on repeat recently: “Welcome Home” by Gareth Donkin; “The Omnichord Real Book” by Meshell Ndegeocello; “Personalidad” by Edie Gormé y Los Panchos.
