Project Create logistics and phasing diagrams to support bidding process for a new Oregon State University dormitory building.
These drawings were used to compare tower crane options. A single crane is possible, and has the advantage of mobilizing less equipment. However, two cranes provide more schedule flexibility. The second crane also eliminates safety concerns associated with "blind picks". With a single crane, the building would obscure the southern hoisting zone from the view of the operator. During interview preparation meetings, the Walsh team reviewed birds-eye and crane operator perspectives to evaluate options before selecting a preferred approach.
